MarginFlow

Privacy and Data Handling

This page explains how MarginFlow handles merchant data. The app is built to help merchants compare charged shipping, merchant-entered actual shipping cost, and shipping margin inside Shopify admin.

Information we access

The app reads limited Shopify order data such as order identifiers, order name, currency, charged shipping, and small pieces of item information used to recognize an order in the interface.

Information we store

We store shop-scoped shipping records in our app database so the correct store and order stay linked to the saved shipping cost entry.

Information we do not need

The app is designed to work without customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, or postal addresses for its core functionality.

Overview

MarginFlow is an embedded Shopify admin app. It helps merchants compare charged shipping from Shopify orders with the actual shipping cost they enter, then shows the resulting shipping margin.

Information we access from Shopify

To operate the app, we read limited Shopify order data, including:

  • order number or order name
  • Shopify order ID and related technical order identifiers
  • currency code
  • charged shipping amount
  • limited item information used to help identify the order in the app interface

Information we store

We store app data in our database so saved shipping-cost records stay associated with the correct store and order.

  • shop domain or other store identifier
  • Shopify order ID
  • order number or order name
  • currency code
  • charged shipping amount
  • merchant-entered actual shipping cost
  • optional merchant notes
  • record timestamps such as created and updated times

How we use information

We use this information only to provide the app's core features:

  • show recent Shopify orders inside the app
  • help merchants identify the correct order
  • compare charged shipping with actual shipping cost
  • calculate shipping margin
  • save shipping-cost entries for later review

Data retention

We keep app-stored data until a merchant asks us to delete it. If you request deletion of app-stored data associated with your store, we aim to complete that deletion within 30 days of a verified request.

Data sharing

MarginFlow uses Shopify as its order data source and stores app records in our own database. The current app does not include additional merchant-facing third-party data integrations beyond Shopify.

Security

The app is hosted by us and stores app data in our hosted database. Data is transmitted over HTTPS, and access to app data is limited to what is needed to operate, maintain, or support the app.

Merchant choices and deletion

If you want to request deletion of app-stored data associated with your store, or if you have questions about the information saved by the app, you can contact us directly.
